The Monsooned Malabar from Vee Kaffee has its origins in the 18th century, when the green coffee was brought by ship from India to Europe during the monsoon months. The long sea voyage and the associated circumnavigation of the Cape of Good Hope took almost 6 months. During this time, the beans ripened in the humid climate from a fresh green bean to a pale yellow-golden one. The ripening process under comparable climatic conditions is known as monsooning; the beans have a mild and sweet note due to the wind and moisture. The light roasting leads to a great abundance of spicy aromas of cocoa and nuts. Overall, the Monsooned Malabar has a great character.
