You only need a few things. - The classic ones are filter coffee with the right grind, a kettle or water boiler with the right pouring shape and brewing water and of course the hand filter itself. You should also not forget the coffee filter for the pour over coffee maker. It doesn't matter whether you choose a classic paper filter or a permanent filter. The permanent filter is a slightly more sustainable decision, as it can be reused after rinsing.
If you have all the necessary utensils ready, you don't have to go out of your way. Put the hand filter on the desired glass jug or cup, put the desired coffee filter in the hand filter and fill it with the freshly ground coffee powder. Then pour the brewing water from the kettle over the coffee powder in a circle to brew the filter coffee.
